Healthcare Continuum Maturity Model
[by Yu, Suin] Samsung Medical Center (SMC) has become the first medical institution in the world to obtain certification across all digital maturity models issued by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS).
SMC announced on December 4 that it has become the first 바카라 에볼루션 institution worldwide to attain Level 6 certification in HIMSS's ‘Continuity of Care Maturity Model (CCMM).’
CCMM evaluates the effectiveness of a dedicated ‘highway’ for the safe and unrestricted flow of 바카라 에볼루션 information between hospitals, as well as between hospitals and patients, thereby ensuring seamless access to care when needed. This certification is viewed as an indication that a digital healthcare ecosystem centered on SMC has effectively been established.
In fact, during last month’s audit, HIMSS concentrated on evaluating the information-sharing, forwarding, and tracking systems established between SMC and its partner 바카라 에볼루션 institutions. Local partner organizations, including Gyeonggi Provincial 바카라 에볼루션 Center Icheon Hospital, Samsung Seoul Breast & Thyroid Clinic, Dundun Clinic, and Seoul Samsung 바카라 에볼루션 Clinic, took part in the audit, validating service continuity in real-world clinical settings.
The evaluation panel reportedly commended Samsung 바카라 에볼루션 Center for establishing a stable, bidirectional healthcare delivery system with primary and secondary 바카라 에볼루션 institutions, leveraging the Samsung Partners Portal, the Health Information Exchange (HIE), and Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service (HIRA) Relay System.
This achievement is attributed to the Samsung Partners Center, which manages referrals and inter-institutional collaboration, building a tightly connected network among 바카라 에볼루션 providers and ensuring precise sharing and tracking of essential information throughout the patient transfer process. HIMSS additionally recognized this collaborative system as a model for patient-centered digital healthcare operations.
The adoption of the Comprehensive Patient Reporting System (PRISM), which oversees the entire patient journey from pre-treatment to post-treatment, was also highlighted as a major contributor to this achievement. In addition, evaluators praised the successful demonstration of technology that integrates continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) data, along with smartwatch-derived heart rate and sleep metrics, into the hospital's electronic 바카라 에볼루션 record (EMR) via the patient's smartphone, enabling 바카라 에볼루션 staff to monitor patient's daily health conditions in real time.
“CCMM Level 6 certification goes beyond a simple verification of technological capability; it affirms international recognition of our ‘patient-centered digital healthcare’ system, which allows patients to receive care seamlessly both inside and outside the hospital,” said Rhee Poong-lyul, head of the Digital Innovation Promotion Team. “We will continue to enhance cooperation with national and regional 바카라 에볼루션 institutions to deliver an improved patient experience and ensure continuity of care,” he added.
